HI, I'M EDRIC. I AM AN ASPIRING NOVELIST, JOURNALIST AND LAWYER.
Artist Author Abolitionist
I write about people — politicians, celebrities, civilians and, of course, myself — for my enjoyment. I spend a lot of time thinking about social codes and interpersonal relationships and cultural pull and why we like the things that we like. I also write for the means of self-preservation — on the issues of: Black rhetoric, Critical Race Theory, anti-racist pedagogy, intersectionality, prison abolition, police demilitarization, and criminal justice reform with impactful civic engagement.
As of the new year, I am a Duke University Pre-Law Fellow, Paragon Policy Fellow and team manager for Student for Voting Justice. In the previous year, I interned with the Atlanta University Center (AUC) Data Science Consortium as a data analyst and keynote speaker with The Scholarship Academy.

Scholarship & Research
Since my time at Howard University, I have been awarded more than fifteen competitive national and regional scholarships and fellowships in recognition of academic excellence, civic leadership, and first-generation college student advocacy. Currently, I am a James Patterson Creative Writer, Jackie Robinson Foundation IMPACT Scholar and Howard University Capstone Scholar. I aim to pursue both my master's and juris doctorate degrees and ultimately working as an investigative journalist for The Times or within the walls of the White House and then pursuing a P.h.D. in English to give back to my community as an educator.
"Edric is without a doubt one of the most talented candidates I’ve ever hired... His drive to excel academically, coupled with his natural leadership and team-building skills, make him well-suited for his expressed aspiration of becoming an attorney and pursuing a career in public policy."
Lucy Turk
Hiring Manager, Students for Voting Justice
"Edric feels driven to serve as an advocate for change by pouring excellence into everything he does... Clearly, Edric’s dedication to creating lasting legal change goes well beyond lip service... Even in the context of a legendary HBCU campus that prides itself above all on its “hustle culture,” Edric’s drive, devotion, and motivation are exceptional."
